Mouthpieces

I fit each of my didgeridoos with a wooden mouthpiece, which is made on a lathe and then carefully crafted by hand. Generally I use teak that is then soaked in hot wax or varnished. The mouthpieces are available with internal diameters ranging from 28mm to 32mm. This enables individual shapes and tailor-made constructions.

The mouthpiece is stuck onto the instrument with a sliver of bees wax (kneaded by hand), allowing it to be easily changed later on. This puts an end to sticky beards and lips. The endless fiddling about with wax mouthpieces that go soft when you play the didgeridoo is hence a thing of the past. At long last the musician also has the possibility of playing on one and the same mouthpiece. Or does anyone know a musician who plays on constantly changing mouthpieces. They are few and far between...
