| Development I began making didgeridoos many years ago. I didn't want to cut open my didgeridoo or mill it like other didgeridoo makers, because this cuts through the run of the grain, which can often cause subsequent problems with cracks and a loss in sound quality. Instead I wanted to create a didgeridoo that retained its original shape and run of grain. My goal was to create a work of art with a unique shape, character design and sound. Many months, indeed years, lie between then and today. I had to develop and make tools that up till then had never existed anywhere in the world. There were also innumerable problems to be solved in order to reach the quality standard that I have now achieved. Something that was initially more or less just a trial, has now almost ripened to perfection. At this juncture I would like to thank all friends, acquaintances and didgeridoo players who have provided me with advice and help. Without their support I would never have got so far. My latest development is a Slidedidge. The sound vessel is made of luxury wood, combined with a high-tech fitting made of anodised aluminium. |
